Sarah Hoefflin won the Olympics and X-Games on the Faction Studio 1 Skis, which is about as strong an endorsement as a park ski can get. A poplar core with carbon stringers strikes the right balance between lightweight agility and the stiffness needed for big air and high-consequence landings, while the carbon-rubber stomp pad underfoot reinforces where it matters most. The symmetrical twin tip and elliptical sidecut make switch skiing feel natural, and the 7mm XL sidewall protects the wood core through the daily grind of park laps. Built for riders hitting the terrain park with their eye on the prize.

Lightweight Poplar Core: Poplar is a light-colored, medium-weight, durable softwood that flexes and pops nicely as well as having a whole load of vibration absorption capabilities. Used as the only wood in this core, it allows the ski to pop, butter and stomp like an all-mountain freestyle ski and also have enough torsional stability to grip impressively on the downhill.

Laminates:

Full Carbon Weave: Between 8 and 12 strips of carbon, sandwiching either side of the ski’s woodcore, are laid unidirectionally, providing extra stability to the ski, without adding weight to the build. Each carbon strip is woven into the fiberglass to provide strength and stiffness in the full length of the ski.

Carbon Rubber Stomp Pad: For extra absorption on those huge hits.
